Giving Thanks Friday

(The wire below the mirror is actually a string of lights - such fun as the evenings get darker.)

This week I am thankful for:

The first bite of a crisp apple - juice running down your face.

Fluffy white towels warm from the dryer.

My husband's suggestion of Subway sandwiches for dinner on a night where I am too drained to think let alone cook.

The completion of a bathroom renovation for my parents and the joy it is bringing them.

Family who rally the troops when battle is necessary.

The waning blossoms of summer carrying us in to a new season.

The Peace that passes all understanding.

What are you thankful for?

May your weekend be filled with wonder, laced with peace and bursting with love...

(Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good: his love endures forever. Psalm 118:1)

  2. I'm thankful for a day overflowing with happiness. Shopping with hubby and lunch at a great Mexican restaurant. Planting chrysanthemums in fall colored pots. Fall decorations with their rich oranges and reds and browns. Great post, Mindy!

  4. Mmmm... you have my mouth watering at the mention of a crisp apple :) We have two apple trees in our yard {they were here when we moved ine}, but the insects and birds always get to them before we can enjoy them. This year we were able to pick 4 apples and boy were they tasty!

Hugs and blessings to you, sweet friend.

  5. Like Stephanie, I'm loving apples at this time of year and I'm thankful for a beautiful, healthy recipe that I found this week for an apple crisp.
I love your list, Mindy, and I agree that a family who is there to support you in difficult times is one of the most important things in our life.
I'm thankful that despite so many changes in my life recently, they all went relatively smoothly and everyone is doing well.
I'm thankful for the feeling I get when I come here, sit back and relax and read your wonderful list. It always brings me a sense of calm and joy.
    Enjoy your weekend, dear friend.

  6. PS. I love that wire on your mantel...it's so thin and almost invisible. I bet it looks so cool when it's lit :)

  7. Ooh! Fluffy white towels are one my favorite things, too. Actually, we only have one white towel and it's mine. :) I also love apples at this time of year. Honey crisp apples are like dessert for me. Love your list and the reminder that there's always something to be thankful for!

  8. Beautiful pics and beautiful words, Mindy. Thankful that I only have one chemotherapy treatment left; a successful surgery for my husband; the squirrels raiding our birdfeeder; the beautiful feral cat who comes to our porch to eat; the brilliant reds as the leaves change color.

  11. Hi Mindy, beautiful said as always, we just got back to Phoenix 104 degrees. I am thankful for the summer we had and I am now thankful for being close to family. So sad what happened in Roseburg, what is happening with our youth?
